According to the YouTube Official blog, the world’s largest video-sharing platform has recently announced new features for its YouTube Premium service, with the aim of boosting subscription revenue, the platform is adding several new perks for its premium users to enhance the user experience and attract more subscribers.
In this article, we’ll explore the new features that YouTube Premium has to offer and what they mean for the platform’s future. First, of course, are the basic features—ad-free viewing, downloading videos, background music from YouTube, etc.
Along with these enticements, YouTube is also introducing some new Premium features in an effort to increase its subscription revenue, which is the most recent social app trend.
For a more streamlined viewing experience, premium users can now construct a queue of items they want to watch in order. YouTube is now bringing content queuing to mobile devices, which might be useful for compiling a list of content that you want to watch while you’re on the go. Premium subscribers have had access to content queuing on the desktop version of the app for some time.
As part of the expansion of YouTube’s Watch Together features, Premium subscribers will be able to organize watch parties via Google Meet.
“Through Meet Live Sharing on Android devices, Premium members can host Google Meet sessions where all attendees, regardless of whether they are Premium or free users, can watch YouTube videos together. In the coming weeks, we’re also rolling out this experience for FaceTime users on iOS via SharePlay.” This will increase the choices for interaction and participation within the YouTube Premium experience.
As people often switch between devices, YouTube will now let Premium subscribers carry on where they left off with their video watching. As you can see in this illustration given below, whenever users switch devices, they’ll notice a popup at the bottom of the app screen reminding them of their previous clip and allowing them to carry on watching from where they left off.
Whenever you’re connected to Wi-Fi, YouTube will automatically download videos to your library so that you may watch your favorite episodes when you want to view them offline. YouTube will now offer a similar service for Premium members, ensuring that you never miss the newest episode. The option is similar to how podcasts to which you are subscribed instantly download ready for listening.
Finally, starting with iOS, YouTube is also introducing a higher-quality version of 1080p HD video quality. “While all users will still have access to 1080p, this enhanced 1080p quality setting will look extra crisp and clear, especially for videos with lots of detail and motion. Whether you’re an avid sports fan or locked in on the latest gaming videos, this new feature will bring an even deeper visual quality to our members!”
That might turn out to be a useful feature for some users, which could increase the number of YouTube Premium subscriptions.
