Sakshi Sindwani is officially having that Grammy Weekend, and the internet is already taking notes. The Indian fashion creator has dropped her first look from Los Angeles, where she’s attending the Grammy Awards, making history as the first Indian creator from India to be part of the Grammys. Yes, it’s big. Yes, it’s iconic. And yes, Sakshi is doing it in serious style.
Sakshi’s presence at the Grammys is more than a victory for her, it’s a historic moment for the rapidly expanding creator economy in India. From reels to red carpets, Sakshi has always been an advocate for representation, and her debut at the Grammy Weekend shows that Indian creators are no longer just observing global pop culture but are now a part of it.
Kicking off the celebrations, Sakshi attended an exclusive Sabrina Carpenter–themed event in Los Angeles, and let’s just say she understood the assignment. She stepped out in a jaw-dropping ensemble by Papa Don’t Preach, delivering a bold, pop-princess moment that instantly set the tone for her Grammy Weekend appearances.
The top was nothing less than wearable art. It was made of ultra-fine glass beads, smaller than a millimeter. The top had almost a hundred manually threaded tassel strands that moved with Sakshi’s body. The beaded tassels went all the way to the back, and the shoulder strap had three-dimensional metallic details that were hand-embroidered.
To counter the dramatic effect of the top, Sakshi’s skirt was made of jacquard fabric that had original hand-illustrated artwork of pomegranates and grapes. The wine, plum, and deep red undertones of the top gave the overall look an indulgent, almost intoxicating effect, as if moments were being absorbed in elegance and attitude.
This look was designed by Shubhika Sharma, and it perfectly embodied the maximalist and inclusive philosophy that Papa Don’t Preach stands for. Sakshi paired the look with a fashionable Miu Miu bag and some breathtaking jewelry pieces from Karishma Joolry.
Confident, expressive, and unapologetically herself, Sakshi’s Grammy Weekend debut is already going to be one of the most memorable fashion moments of the weekend, and honestly, this is just the beginning.
