Quote-tweet reactions, auto-captions for videos, conversation vibes prompts & more updates on Twitter

A series of modifications, add-ons, and feature updates could be seen taking over Twitter as the micro-blogging site preps up to augment the platform accessibility for users.

Quote Tweet With Reaction

Mobile developer and a Twitter user, Alessandro Paluzzi tweeted about the platform testing an option to share your reaction on certain tweets along with the quote tweet. Twitter is currently testing a ‘quote tweet with the reaction’ feature availability where users will be able to record, capture their live reactions to tweets and can also upload them from their phone camera roll.

Currently, the Twitterati can only retweet or quote tweet the posts. They will have to wait for the third one to add on once it goes live for users across devices.

Auto-Captions for Videos

Keeping inclusivity at the core, Twitter has introduced auto-captions for videos on the platform which will automatically add text to muted videos. Available for Android & iOS users, the auto-captions will show on muted Tweet videos.

Users can keep the auto-captions option on when unmuted via their device’s accessibility settings. While on the desktop, they can select the “CC” button to turn it on/off.

Moreover, the feature imbibes videos of all kinds, individual posts, gifs, and in-tweet videos. Reportedly, auto-captions are available in 37 languages and will be accessed only in the language of the device used to upload the videos.

According to Twitter, not all videos will have captions or subtitles available. On iOS and Android, captions are shown automatically when videos are viewed in the timeline. To see captions in full screen, users will have to enable captions at the system level.

Conversation vibe prompts

Ever imagined that a social media application will give you a heads up about any conversation getting intense or spun in a fun manner? Twitter has taken upon itself to introduce the first of its kind update in the digital universe. The platform is testing a ‘prompt’ feature for a limited time. It will notify you with a pop-up when a discussion has the potential to become intense.

The feature is being processed for iOS, Android, and Web users as of yet. As a part of the test, Twitter has added signals to more accurately determine when prompts appear.
