The Big News

Ahead of walking the Cannes red carpet, the popular internet sensation had some exciting news to share. In a conversation with Film Companion’s Sneha Menon Desai, she announced her Tamil film debut in which she will star opposite Atharvaa Murali in the lead.

About The Film

Talking about the movie, Niharika NM revealed, “It’s a really fun film, it’s entertaining. It has romance, comedy, friendships, heart breaks, road trips and it’s partially shot in New York. So, I get to take a road trip to New York, as I am playing a character that lives in New York.” She couldn’t unveil more about what her character plays but it sounds like a super entertaining film.

Other than this, she also stated that the movie is currently in the pre-production phase. With the filming expected to begin soon, the makers are eyeing for a release in 2025. More details about the film will be announced at a later date.

Manifesting Works

This is Niharika NM’s third time at Cannes. When she came last year, she had an interview with Sneha Menon Desai at the exact same fountain where she manifested a film of her own. Sneha had said “You are a child of the Internet. You don’t have a film showing here now. To which Niharika responded, “Maybe one day no? Hopefully, fingers crossed. That’s the goal. I really want to manifest!” And now she is a part of one. Manifesting does work, guys!

Another feather in Niharika NM’s cap was her recent entry into Hollywood with a cameo appearance in Netflix’s highly acclaimed series ‘Big Mouth‘. She lent her distinctive voice in Hindi for the animated series featuring alongside Megan Thee Stallion, Maitreyi Ramakrishnan, Maya Rudolph, Padma Lakshmi, and Jordan Peele, among others. Now, we look forward to knowing more about her Tamil film. Way to go, Niharika!
