In a bid to make the social audio-only platform more inclusive in terms of languages, and better accessibility, Clubhouse has rolled out 13 new languages available on Android today: Arabic, Bengali, Chinese Simplified, Chinese Traditional, Farsi / Persian, Hausa, Igbo, Marathi, Nepali, Somali, Thai, Turkish, and Yoruba.
The move comes after Clubhouse received feedback from users that language localization helps them grow as creators and that the social network is excited to introduce them to the next wave of language support on the app. With the latest update, it would be easier for users from different parts of the globe to get access and utilize the features of the app seamlessly in terms of content creation and communication.
Earlier the app had started out with 13 languages including French, German, Hindi, Indonesian, Italian, Japanese, Kannada, Korean, Malayalam, Portuguese (Brazilian), Spanish, Tamil, and Telugu to make users create native content and converse in the language that suits their comfort zone. The language feature has made the app leverage localization trend and creates opportunities for more uptake of local content.
Clubhouse has also shared that the company plans to roll out more languages and iOS support soon.
Next in line, it has also updated the ‘Interests’ feature which has now been renamed as ‘Topics’ with a broader, better list of topics that will make it easier to discover rooms and clubs, as well as the option to display topics you follow on your profile so people can quickly see what you’re all about), according to the company’s official blog.
With customization at the core, Clubhouse also states that Topics will be more helpful now in terms of quick searches and findings for the user according to their shared interests and will be available in more places. The feature will allow them to find rooms, clubs, and people with shared passions or relevant expertise.
