SN Spotlight: RJ Princy making you smile with the best pickup lines!

“Padhne ka shauq hai toh kya bas books hi read karoge?
Ab yahaan aa gaye ho toh, mera article nahi read karoge?

If only I could be as creative as RJ Princy is and open the article with an amazing pickup line. But I tried. Even if it is a failure, let it go. Being a Radio Jockey and entertaining everyone beyond your radio shows is now a trend that most RJs are following. While some are growing with following the trends, here is a girl who is trending for the trend she has started- original pickup lines, which will leave you smiling for sure. I am talking about Princy Parikh who was an RJ professional at Radio Mirchi and is now a trendsetter on Instagram.

With her hilarious pickup lines and topical content, Princy has made a place on the internet and in the hearts of her loyal followers. In a conversation with Social Nation, she spoke about her love for content started and how she plans to go about with this in the future.

What inspired you to make the transition from radio jockey to content creator, and how did you get started in this field?

I started creating content in 2016, which was the pre-reel era. In 2021 I got selected as a radio jockey in Mirchi. In recent times, a radio jockey is not just limited to radio. He/ she has to be a good content creator by default. Being a radio jockey was my dream, but what I actually enjoyed was creating something different for my show. A new story, a new joke, a new song, my take on the news, trends, and city. If we see, this is all at the end of the day -content creation. Radio is just a medium.

Besides hosting my 11-2 show I was dedicated to making videos too. In 2022, some of my videos started getting viral and I saw my followers increasing rapidly. I realized I have more audience than ever. I wanted to give my best as a content creator and invest more time and effort in my work. Therefore I took the plunge, quit my job, and became a full-time content creator.

How do you approach creating content for your audience, and what is your creative process?

For me, work time is playtime. I have always aimed to be a trendsetter.

I maintain a balance of ‘taking good care of the craft, technicalities, details, but on the other hand, having as much fun as I can’. Previously I used to stop myself from uploading some videos because I thought my performance wasn’t perfect enough. But gradually I realized that having fun is more important than being perfect. That’s where people connect with you. I create content that I myself would love to share.

What do you think are the most important skills for a content creator, and how have you developed these skills over time?

Every content is different, it’s treatment needs different skills. For someone like me – I have to work on my writing, acting, editing, shooting, and observing skills on a daily basis.
But the basic for all content creators are-

Confidence: It Is the most important skill. To face the camera, to make an opinion, to share your thoughts, to not care about the trollers, to present yourself as it is to the world. I am still in the process of acquiring this skill. It is a continuous process.

Patience: There are times when we put our 100% into a video but it fails badly and this keeps repeating. In these times, patience is important to step back and analyze where are we going wrong. Sometimes, it’s just the algorithm that is not pushing your amazing content piece. This happened to me and it still happens- so instead of numbers I started focusing on the quality of the content. It takes time but the clout eventually appreciates, it eventually follows!

How do you stay up-to-date with the latest trends and how do you involve these in your content?

Humans are full of stories. newspapers are full of stories. Objects are full of stories. Places are full of stories. I’m constantly searching for any of the above stories that grab my attention and interest me. And voila! I write it down. If not immediately, someday I’ll use it. That’s how I plan my content and so far it has been working well!

The creator is not just putting out words there. She’s also adding music to it and making songs like the above one.

Her passion has won her awards too! From 100k to 1 million, the creator has seen it all and her passion for the work stays unwavering.

What have been some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced as a content creator?

Family acceptance. This is still a new profession. Unlike CA, Engineering, medical, and MBA, parents know the least about this. They are constantly skeptical and sometimes don’t understand the amount of effort, time, respect, and freedom this profession deserves.

What kind of content do you enjoy watching? Is there a dream collaboration that you have in mind?

I enjoy watching parodies, sketches, and long-format informational videos, cinema-related videos, and notable interviews on YouTube.
My dream collaboration is a video with the legend SRK
!

What kind of content do you want to try making other than what you do?

The long format funny sketches, introduce a new interesting character.

What advice do you have for aspiring content creators who are just starting out?

My advice would be to create content for what you want to be known for.

How do you engage with your audience and build a loyal following, and what do you think are the most important factors in creating a strong and engaged community?

I’ve learned that people don’t subscribe to channels, they subscribe to your personality. Don’t fake accents, lifestyle, fashion, or opinions in order to be or sound like someone else.

The audience is smart, they smell fake from far away. 1K or 1M followers- an artist knows it takes a lot to win someone’s follow! So always respect them.

As Princy’s content is mostly upbeat and fun to watch, here’s hoping she will be going places and we can’t wait for her to support her as she achieves it all.
