EPR Drops a New Rap ‘Amai Dubaili Re / Amai Bhasaili Re’, The Modern Twist to Bhatiyali Folk Tune

Modern rap meets Bhatiyal folk elements with Indian rapper EPR Iyer’s new track ‘Amai Dubaili Re / Amai Bhasali Re’ (‘ADR / ABR’). Premiered on September 16, 2021, it has received 138K views and 18K likes on YouTube. The music video not only features the rapper but Trisha Coelho too!

Check out EPR’s ‘ADR / ABR’ here:

As stated on EPR’s YouTube channel, “Amai Dubaili Re / Amai Bhasaili Re’ is a Bhatiyali folk song written by Bengali poet Jasimuddin. Bhatiali songs are sung by sailors, fishermen & boatmen in West Bengal and Bangladesh. They are well-known folk songs handed over from generation to generation and are very popular for their simple tune and soulful lyrics. EPR’s & GJ Storm’s ‘ADR/ABR’ pays homage to the aforesaid legendary folk tune blending it with the elements of modern hip hop, trap, lo-fi & dwells deeper lyrically in the zones of imagery laden abstractionism & poetry.”

Apart from performing, EPR himself penned down the lyrics. The concept credits also go to the rapper. Behind production, mixing, and mastering was GJ Storm. Recorded at Sonic Solution, the music video was directed by Mitrayan Saha. It was shot and edited by Hoodnamejo. Souradip Hazra also had a hand in shooting it.

The song is already available on Gaana, Spotify, Apple Music, Amazon Prime Music, Hungama, Resso, and Wynk. So what are you waiting for? Go stream it now! Interested in knowing about EPR’s previous song? Then tap on EPR Released A Super-Fresh Track ‘Younger’ Feat. Zephyrtone.
