Diljit Dosanjh: The First Indian Artist To Perform At Coachella

We are currently running high on national pride and we have every reason to believe that 2023 belongs to India. Unless you have been living under a rock, you would know that our favourite ‘Lover’ – Diljit Dosanjh performed at Coachella 2023. This makes him the first Indian artist to rock the famous music festival’s stage on fire. One of the most recognized music festivals, the Coachella Valley Music & Arts Festival is held over two weekends in California.

The Punjabi actor-singer, known for his outstanding style, performed on stage wearing traditional Punjabi attire – a black kurta and tamba and looked absolutely drool-worthy. He kept the audience engaged with his enthralling performance while famous personalities like DJ Diplo grooved to his concert.

Even his entry on the international stage was no less than an absolute dhamaka as he took to the mic and asked the audience to get ready for fun Punjabi numbers. For those who don’t understand the lyrics, he asked them to enjoy the vibe and dance to the beats of his songs.

Diljit also ensured his performance was one of the most awaited as he posted some backstage shenanigans wearing yet another striking outfit – blue Louis Vuitton co-ords with a pearl necklace during his rehearsals.

Bollywood celebrities like Alia Bhatt, Varun Dhawan, Kareena Kapoor Khan, Kriti Sanon, Rakul Preet Singh and Badshah, took to Instagram and applauded the epic performance of our Punjabi munda who had the international audience vibing to the beats of his tunes.

If this wasn’t enough to get our hearts pumping, one of our favourite couples – Shawn Mendes Camilla Cabello have sparked rumours of getting back together as they shared a kiss at Coachella and were seen dancing and enjoying the festival together.

Coachella 2023 has definitely managed to grab eyeballs for all the right reasons. Another South Asian performer who is making his debut this year at Coachella is Pakistan’s Ali Sethi known for his famous composition – Pasoori which made headlines last year as the most searched song in 2022.

The diversity and inclusivity at Coachella are appealing to fans all over the world and we can’t even begin to express how happy this makes us. All we have to say is, “Chak de Fattey!”

Stay tuned for more exciting updates.
