Amazon miniTV’s Latest Jamnapaar Is A Wholesome Watch

From Laapata Ladies to Panchayat Season 3, the Indian audience has been loving heartland stories lately. Adding to the list is Amazon miniTV‘s newest web series “Jamnapaar.” Released on May 24, the show stars Ritvik Sahore, Varun Badola, Ankita Saigal, Raghu Ram, Srishti Rindani, Anubha Fatehpuria, Inder Sahani, and Lokesh Mittal. This 10-episode aspirational drama follows the story of Shantanu Bansal a.k.a Shanky (played by Ritvik Sahore), a young man from East Delhi. Hailing from East Delhi, Shanky struggles with feelings of inferiority about his Jamnapaar roots. He aspires to leave his traditional upbringing behind for a glamorous corporate life in South Delhi.

The Plot

Jamnapaar’s narrative revolves around Shanky’s life which begins from his humble East Delhi home, and then skyrockets to the glamourous South Delhi world. Shanky believes that he will attain success and happiness only if he finds a job in South Delhi’s glitzy universe. As he takes the plunge, Shanky is faced with situations where he has to choose himself over his family.

His growth comes at the cost of sacrificing his morals. It is through this tedious journey that Shanky learns how true happiness can only be found by embracing one’s roots and cherishing the bonds that tie us together. With an emphasis on the value of family, friendship, and self-identity, Jamnapaar makes you feel closer to home.

Ritvik Sahore’s growth in the world of content is truly inspirational. It was heartwarming to watch one of our favourite content creators Ankita Saigal kill it in the series as ‘Shailja‘. Varun Badola on screen is always a treat to watch. But the cherry on top was watching Raghu Ram’s fab performance as ‘Rajat Thappar!’ Raghu and Ritvik also indulged in some fun marketing promotions for the show.
